Best Meals for Kids at Disney

It's no surprise that Disney does a great job when it comes to restaurants. There are endless choices that include various types of cuisine, decor, location, characters...and more!   Depending on your family...and your kids, not all options may appeal to everyone! Today let's talk about the options for kids!
These are in no particular order and are a mix of both counter service and table service!

'Ohana
This is super popular for both breakfast and dinner (although breakfast is far easier to get into).  'Ohana is located at Disney's Polynesian which is just a short monorail or boat ride from the Magic Kingdom.

  •  Breakfast: Dine with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch at this all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast, served family style! Not only is the food great, but you get to meet Mickey too!
  • Dinner: Another all-you-care-to-enjoy meal but this time it's served up Hawaiian style!! 'Ohana means family so join the 'Ohana family for an amazing meal with a little entertainment thrown in!  The menu has a little something for everyone including salad, chicken wings, potstickers, vegetables, wood fired meats AND one of the best desserts on property (according to me anyway)!
Be Our Guest

When I asked my Facebook fans which meal their kids loved best, Be Our Guest was a popular answer!  Not only is this a one of a kind restaurant, but there are choices!
  • Counter Service: During the day this restaurant is open as a counter service restaurant...meaning no reservations required! Be forewarned that it's EXTREMELY popular and the wait time can be long.  Be sure to go early or late and avoid the noon rush.  The menu is slightly more sophisticated than just burgers and fries, but that's the best part! It has great options for both adults and kids and some of the best cupcakes on property!
  • Table Service: While this is currently the most sought after and hard to get reservation, if you are able to dine here for dinner you won't regret it! What child wouldn't want to eat in the Beasts' castle? The menu is a bit different from what is served at lunch but is still a great mix of kid friendly food, while still having something a bit more sophisticated for the adults. Plus, while not guaranteed, many times you have the opportunity to meet the Beast after dinner!
Whispering Canyon

Are you looking for a location with great food where your kids can let loose?  Whispering Canyon is the place to be!  Just a quick boat ride from the Magic Kingdom, Whispering Canyon is located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and is a rip roaring good time!  The menu is a bit of American BBQ with a ton of fun thrown in. Expect lots of singing, yelling and running around! Oh and don't forget the Bottomless Milkshakes!!

Mama Melroses

Mama Melroses is one of my family's personal favorites, tucked away in a quiet corner of Hollywood Studios.  The food her is Italian but our favorite part is when we book this restaurant in conjunction with the Fantasmic Dining Package. There is NO extra cost for this package!!  So what's the big deal? You get priority seating to the Fantasmic! Show later that night.  Which means less time waiting in line, less time sitting on hot (or cold depending on the season) metal bleachers....which makes for happier kids!!

Tusker House

While many folks flock to Chef Mickey's (a great option in close proximity to the parks) it's often very hard to get into.  Tusker House located in Disney's Animal Kingdom is a great (and many feel better) alternative. You still have the opportunity to meet Mickey and Donald (and often a few more of the Fab 5), Tusker House is locate within the Animal Kingdom requiring no additional traveling. Plus this is a great option with characters for both Breakfast AND Lunch. I usually recommend lunch as a nice break from a wild morning in the park.

Via Napoli

What's better for a picky eater than Pizza?  Via Napoli is a great option for when you are visiting EPCOT. Located in Italy in EPCOT's World Showcase, Via Napoli is a great option for both lunch and dinner. Lunch can be a great economical choice if you are not on the dining plan and can often cost around the same as a counter service meal!

Food Courts

Albeit this is a generic suggestion but the food courts have so much to offer everyone! Many of the food courts are now offering more custom meals, which can be great for little ones.  Plus a few food courts offer specialties like pasta bars, all you can eat Dole Whip and more. Plus they are a great option if you are spending some time hanging  by the pool and want to keep it simple!
