Characters in Flight

I posted last week about Downtown Disney and all the fun stuff there is to do for FREE. Well also located at Downtown Disney are several fun and unique attractions that aren't so free but are well worth the money.  One of those experiences is Characters in Flight.


Characters in Flight is a tethered Hot Air Balloon ride that is located in Downtown Disney's West Side, on the Pleasure Island Side. This ride will take you up about 400 feet in the air (depending on weather) and provides some AWESOME views of Walt Disney World and the surrounding area. The attraction is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., weather permitting. The cost is $18. per adult and kids are just $12.00.  This is not a fast ride, so make sure you plan accordingly. You'll wait in line as they balloon is loaded up, launched and descends back to Earth.

A few years ago we experienced this awesome attraction.  It might be kind of obvious, but if you are afraid of heights...this is NOT for you (Love you Lauren Kennedy!). We went up at night with the hopes of seeing Wishes. Keep in mind that since the time to load the balloon and for it to ascend and descend can vary, this is pretty hard to do.  The views from the top were spectacular!

If you are looking for something fun to do at night, I would definitely recommend giving this a try!
