Dumbo Inspired Nursery

While this post is a little off topic for cruise month...ok, well a lot off topic, I wanted to share with you a little more how we Live With The Magic every day!  When we found out our first child was going to be a girl, it was a no brainer that she would have a Disney Princess inspired room. It was sweet and filled with tiny touches of Disney...and some not so tiny!

Now that she's almost 3 we realize the room doesn't suit her personality at all and she's overdue for a spruce but that's a story for another day!  We decided that for baby #2 we wanted to do something a little less traditional but still keeping with a Disney theme!  After considering a few ideas, including Nemo, Little Mermaid and more, we finally decided on Dumbo.  It's one of Kennedy's favorite movies AND I have always loved Elephants (I even have a small collection).

We knew that we didn't want to do soft colors like in Kennedy's room. We wanted something fun and bright!  After careful consideration, here is what we came up with!!

I worked with an Etsy seller to design this one of a kind custom decal to match the circus/Dumbo theme.  Check out her shop here.

We are reusing Kennedy's crib since she's in a toddler bed now. The Chevron Sheets and Bed Skirt both came from Target.  There were no sets that I loved, plus we don't use the bumpers so we just found individual pieces we loved!

This simple white dresser came from Walmart.com and I found the PERFECT Elephant lamp from Urban Outfitters...on sale too! The Red Lampshade is from Pottery Barn.

And one last touch...a tiny elephant hat for her Newborn photos

I hope you enjoyed! I'd love to hear what kind of Disney themed rooms your kids have!!

Update...check out her newborn photos HERE.
