I've mentioned before that we have a tradition when we are at Disney. Several years ago on our first trip to Disney together, the hubs and I stopped in the Art of Animation store at EPCOT. He was so intrigued by the artist they have there and that he could get a personal drawing (you can also buy one pre-drawn). If you ever meet my husband he can talk to just about anybody...about ANYTHING. Especially at Disney. Well got to talking with the artist, who's name is Eddie by the way, and found they have a lot in common. We purchase our very first drawing (Mickey playing golf) and framed and hung it right away.
This has become a tradition, not only in getting the picture but having Eddie draw it. Eric was so excited as this was our first visit where he didn't have to remind Eddie who he was but he knew him right away!!
So we went ahead and ordered one but had to ship it home because of time restraints. Well imagine my surprise yesterday when UPS dropped off this.
After removing the bubble wrap there was even more wrapping. What did we order?
Once I got to the envelope I realized it was our picture. They took extra precautions to be sure it arrived safe and sound!
Every time we order a picture, we try and theme it to our trip. We have a Bride and Groom Mickey and Minnie, a Cinderella for the babies room and even a Santa Mickey. This time...Dory!!
We were thrilled that they are doing 2 colors now!
You can customize the picture with a phrase or saying of your choice.

I love this tradition! I might have to steal the idea, or atleast go and get one done on our next trip. Something for the baby's room. Do you get to request what image you want or look at a catalog, or is it up to the artist and is random? Also, about how much does it tend to cost, roughly, for this?
ReplyDeleteYou can definitely request but they only are allowed to do certain characters. They usually have a bunch on file that you can choose from but if you want it a bit more personal find one they don't have or find something you want to change about it. I think for one character it's about $35 and 2 characters was $65? We did one for the baby's room too!
